I’m Emmie. I’m studying for a degree in Illustration, working full time as a freelance designer and Illustrator and working part-time as an unpaid intern for a design agency.

This blog is for my own work.

Finally, something new to post! Sorry for the long radio-silence.
I bought a mini portable photography studio for one of my uni assignments the other day (I’m sure we’ll get to that later, at some point) and I figured I would test it out by trying a few still life shots.
I knew obsessively collecting tin robots would come in handy one day! This is Edgar. He’s my favourite of the bunch so far. Shot with a Nikon D40X, red backdrop, mini studio lights and a colour filter. No editing except for enhancing the contrast a bit!

I’ve been working on assignments for about 4 weeks straight now and none of them have been particularly blog-worthy, so I took a couple hours out today to do this for myself (it’s actually a cropped version of my new desktop wallpaper, which you can look at here). Inspired by vintage cameos/victorian silhouettes - which I’m a sucker for - and skulls. Love me some skull imagery. It’s a shame that this is a little too late for Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead and Halloween, two of my favourite festivals/holidays. Oh well! Sorry about the watermark, too, but it had to be done.
