I recently helped out with a local festival in Birmingham called Swingamajig! (5th May 2013).

I designed the crew passes (pictured above) which were worn/used on the day by all the artists/technicians/stewards/staff, etc.

I also designed a wooden stage prop (pictured below) that was placed in front of the PA on the main stage. It was a GREAT event, filled to the brim with talented people and loving, friendly souls. I feel proud to have been of assistance and had such an amazing time, too.

Finally, something new to post! Sorry for the long radio-silence.
I bought a mini portable photography studio for one of my uni assignments the other day (I’m sure we’ll get to that later, at some point) and I figured I would test it out by trying a few still life shots.
I knew obsessively collecting tin robots would come in handy one day! This is Edgar. He’s my favourite of the bunch so far. Shot with a Nikon D40X, red backdrop, mini studio lights and a colour filter. No editing except for enhancing the contrast a bit!
I finished my 3 month internship at The Studio 4 (design agency) today. I’ve basically been working non-stop, posting blogs, writing SEO reports, designing logos, editing photos, laying out pages, writing editorials, illustrating bits and bobs - everything. Here’s something I did today for the company’s 2012 Christmas e-bulletin.
Working at a design agency has taught me a number of things:
1) Everyone always expects you to do everything at once.
2) Everything will only take you ‘5 or so minutes’ according to your manager
3) Clients are idiots.
To be honest, it was a great experience. I loved the people I worked with, and I got a lot of illustrations and designs accepted/published, so it’s helped me with my faith in myself, and it’s also make me work a LOT faster.
Working up some initial sketches and FINALLY making a proper start on the kids’ story I’m illustrating to be published in the summer. Just some flat colour drawings of ‘Isabella the Fairy’, I’m going to add textures and a little extra shading here and there in the final pages.
ALSO, I now have a facebook page for my work over at http://www.facebook.com/EmmieMcKeeGraphicDesignAndIllustration - so if you like my work, a ‘like’ for the page would be GREATLY appreciated. :)

Anonymous asked: Is that meant to be 'quite' or 'quiet'?... If it's quite, I don't get it :S But it looks really good!

Why is this an anonymous question? It’s ‘quite’, and I don’t understand why you’d be confused? ‘Quite passive’ makes perfect sense, it’s the same as saying ‘absolutely passive’, or ‘very passive’. In any case, thank you!

designburp asked: you're one freaking talented individual! So what's the deal with this zombie book? Are those the only pages you've worked on? Were you planning on completing a book?

Thanks, dude! You’re not too bad at this whole artsy thing yourself. :) Um, no.. I completed 10 double page spreads as well as the front and back cover. I might post some more pages later on so people can have a look-see! It’s an A5 size booklet, really. Like I said, depending on the demand and if I can figure out a cost-effective way to get them printed, I’d totally start selling them.
